Diet
Diet is an important factor in maintaining your health. If a person has a chronic illness then it is even more important that their diet is as healthy as possible.
One difficulty for many with a chronic illness is that they are simply not able to do very much exercise. Of course this doesn't apply to everyone but those who are not very active will have the additional problem of not putting on weight.
Sweets (chocolate!) are often a source of 'comfort eating' for those who are alone or unhappy with their circumstances. Unfortunately with can result in becoming overweight, resulting in additional health problems and low self-esteem.
Fresh fruit and vegetables are an essential part of any diet let alone one for someone with a chronic illness.
If you can avoid buying processed food then that may be the best option for you. There may be additives and chemicals that may cause you problems. It is also an unfortunate fact that many people with chronic illnesses are living on their own and buying processed food can easily result in getting larger quantities than are appropriate. Avoiding processed food may also minimise your intake of chemicals and additives.
